Job Description:

Routine maintenance of a high-resolution LC-MS/MS instrument and perform standard analysis of samples from different research groups.

Routine maintenance of a low-resolution LC-MS/MS instrument.

Standard trouble shootings of other departmental research instruments, including plate readers, cold room, centrifuges, lyopholizers, and scintillation counter.

Training new users for all department instruments, including the low-resolution LC-MS/MS

Set up and update maintenance agreements with vendors

Communicating with vendors for preventive maintenance and for handling instrument breakdown

Maintaining laboratory EHS safety protocols/documentations. Maintain department equipment related inventories. Be responsible for managing lab safety requirements for department labs

Expected Salary:

$17.24/ hour

Minimum Requirements:

Associate’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of related experience or a high school diploma and four years of related experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience

Preferred Qualifications:

BS degree

MS degree

3+ years’ lab experience in analytical chemistry or biology

Capable of prioritizing tasks to meet goals

Ability to communicate effectively

Hand-on LC-MS/MS experience desired
