The Morgridge College of Education (MCE) at the University of Denver (DU) invites applications in the Department of Counseling Psychology at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice (12-month appointment, renewable, non-tenure track). Located in the city of Denver, DU is the oldest and largest independent university in the Rocky Mountain Region with high research activity and enrolls approximately 11,500 students in its undergraduate, graduate, and professional preparation programs. Position Summary
We seek a candidate with a proven record of excellence in teaching, supervision, mentoring/advising, and clinical work, as well as who values our mission of serving the public good and inclusive excellence. We are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute to diversity, equity and inclusion through their teaching and service. The ideal candidate demonstrates experience and versatility in inclusive pedagogy. The position will require an innovative and critical thinker who is capable of working within a dynamic environment. This appointment will be a 12-month, one academic year, non-tenure track appointment with the potential for renewal and eligible for promotion per the appointments, promotion and tenure policies of the University of Denver and Morgridge College of Education.

Essential Functions

  • Teach Master's and Doctoral courses in counseling psychology (3 to 4 courses per quarter).
  • Advise graduate students.
  • Serve on department and college committees.

Required Qualifications

  • Earned doctorate by the start date in counseling psychology, clinical psychology, counselor education and supervision or a closely related field.
  • Prior experience in teaching and supervision.
  • Demonstrated commitment to and experience working with diverse populations and demonstrated knowledge, experience, and versatility in inclusive pedagogy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching experience at the graduate level.
  • Although the area of specialist is open, we are seeking candidates who can advance our department priorities by teaching courses related to theory, counseling techniques, and practicum/internship.

Salary Grade Number
The salary grade for the position is UC.

Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $67,200.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
