Advertised Job Summary:

The Receptionist will manage the front desk at the Montgomery Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic. The clinic serves clients of all ages with communication and hearing disorders. The Receptionist will manage all incoming calls, collect demographic, insurance and HIPPA information, collect payments, assist clients, faculty and students with various inquires, record all transactions and maintain receipts. Responsible for all clinic credit transactions and deposits. Oversees clinic speech therapy master schedule, including scheduling, changing and confirming appointments. Manages all appointment cancellations and rescheduling, including communication with faculty and students. Responsible for clinic closing procedures.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Bachelor’s degree, or high school diploma and 4 years related experience; or equivalency

Preferred Qualifications:

The person who occupies this position should have prior customer service experience, be willing to learn new tasks and be able to develop a rapport with students, faculty, and clients. Proficient in conversational Spanish.


Must have data entry experience and working knowledge of computers. Must have experience with collecting and recording payments and maintaining receipts. Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must be able to work well with the public and be able to multitask. Work experience in a clinical setting preferred.
