The Gamecock Recovery Coordinator promotes a healthy environment and lifestyle for students in recovery by providing tools and support for academic success, professional development, and campus and community support. The coordinator will plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate appropriate support programs for students in recovery, including planning educational, social, and service opportunities that connect students in recovery to each other and the USC experience. In addition, this position will provide direct support to individual students in recovery, including creating recovery support plans as appropriate, and connecting students to a referral network of campus and community resources. The Coordinator will also develop events, workshops, and other co-curricular programming, education and marketing materials to reduce stigma related to addiction and recovery and to build support for Gamecock Recovery across campus and in the community.
20%: Plan, coordinate, implement, and evaluate appropriate support programs for students in recovery which connect students in recovery to each other and the USC experience.
25%: Provide direct support to individual students and groups of students in recovery including managing and operating recovery center space.
15%: Recruit, train, and supervise graduate interns, peer leaders, and student recovery coaches. Coordinate training and on-going professional development.
25%: Develop workshops, seminars, events, and trainings to reduce stigma related to addiction and recovery. Presentations relevant to a variety of groups including students, faculty, staff, and community members.
10%: Cultivate a referral network of campus and community resources related to addiction and recovery. Represent Gamecock Recovery to campus, community, regional, and national organizations.
5%: Other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):
Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 2 years related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 4 years related experience.Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Public Health, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field and prior experience with a recovery program.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Familiarity with various pathways to recovery and a recovery oriented continuum of care as well as experience in recovery support, student support, or recovery coaching. Strong verbal and written communication skills.Safety Sensitive or Security Sensitive:
