Job Description

This position will assist in bolstering departmental outreach efforts in three key areas: student staff development, events & reservations, and marketing & communication. in the supervision and management of the student staff employment. The Outreach Specialist will do this working directly with the Student Experience Coordinator, the Events & Reservations Coordinator, and the Student Affairs Marketing and Communication team. Some of the primary duties are listed below within Essential Functions.

Essential Functions:

    Assist in coordinating and executing student staff onboarding and development. Facilitate department orientation for new student staff.
    Work with department managers to coordinate professional development opportunities for student staff. This effort includes serving as advisor of Student Staff Advisory Committee
  • Work with Events & Reservations Coordinator to enhance onsite customer service at pertinent functions
  • Coordinate student staff recognition programs
  • Maintain database of student staff alumni
  • Serve as a liaison to assist Marketing & Communications in maintaining awareness of high profile MizzouRec programs and/or announcements
  • Involvement with duties and responsibilities of divisional and university special projects and events, programming, and work groups pertaining to the overall student experience.
Salary

Salary Range: $13.27 - $15.39 an hour

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Some evening and weekend events may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

A high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, recreation, or related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.

One to two years in leadership or managerial experience with preference of working with college students, event management, and/or organizational communication. Education in a related field maybe substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
