Job Description This is a professional Research Administration position which focuses mainly on pre-award grant/contract related activities working within the Office Sponsored Programs Administration. Principle duties are reviewing grant proposals for compliance, providing customer service to internal and external customers, and negotiating grants and contracts on behalf of the University.

This position requires good professional judgment, a strong work ethic, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize. The ideal candidate will display strong problem solving and organizational skills, excellent customer service, a collaborative nature, and be able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Specifically, this position:

    Works with departmental staff on the preparation of grant and contracts proposals, serving in a central office roleReviews proposals to ensure they have met all internal and external compliance requirementsNegotiates terms and conditions with the external funding agency and completes the internal set-up of the awardProvides a high level of customer service in answering questions and gathering informationMaintains knowledge of existing laws, policies, and procedures necessary to comply with Federal, State, and University regulations concerning grants and contractsAssists in developing and implementing procedures to support campus-wide grants and contracts administrationDevelops and fosters customer relationshipsPossesses the ability to cooperate and contribute to a team environment as well as successfully work individually with limited oversightParticipates in team meetings and present information on various topics related to this position
Salary Hiring Range: $47,476 - $55,000 Annually

University Title: Senior Business Operations Associate

Shift Monday through Friday

8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Research Administration experience is desirable. Strong analytical skills, budget preparation/grant preparation experience a plus.
