Program Associate - PIVOT Program, McDonough School of Business

The Program Associate will be a part of the Georgetown Pivot Program leadership team. The Pivot Program is a 10-month, non-degree custom program in business and entrepreneurship, specifically for formerly incarcerated individuals (known as “Pivot Fellows”), offered by Georgetown in partnership with the DC Dept of Employment Services. The Pivot Program combines classroom training with subsidized internship placements in local businesses and is designed to help participants obtain sustainable permanent employment, either inside these organizations or in business enterprises of their own.

The Program Associate will report to the Director of Program Management and work closely with the Pivot Program Manager, as well as the entire Pivot leadership team. The candidate will help with recruitment and admissions, processing bi-weekly payroll for Pivot Fellows, and the day-to-day operations of the program. The Program Associate would also engage with the Pivot alumni population and coordinate opportunities for collaboration and a sense of community amongst the current and previous cohorts. The Program Associate will help with the behind-the-scenes coordination as well as some in-person/virtual classroom management. The Program Associate will maintain the Pivot Program's Resources database and engage with local providers and vendors of services related to our Fellows. In this role, the Program Associate will have responsibilities including:

  • preparing programming materials for Pivot Fellows,
  • maintaining the Pivot Program databases,
  • leading smaller projects and initiatives (such as alumni engagement),
  • assisting in the daily management of the program, and
  • providing administrative support to Pivot faculty and staff.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required
  • At least one year of business experience in program or event management
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical ability to multi-task, prioritize, follow directions, and execute
  • Critical eye for detail
  • Confidence to take initiative, ask questions, and make recommendations with the end goal being process improvement and Fellow satisfaction
  • Familiarity and proficiency in the Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.), Google Suite, and Canvas
  • Personal experience with the reentry process and familiarity with the challenges and barriers faced by currently and formerly incarcerated individuals strongly preferred.
  • Advanced computer skills strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with Airtable
