At Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, our mission is to build global business knowledge and inspire ethical leaders to serve the common good.

Georgetown's Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program is a blended online/on-campus program where students have the option to attend weekly live sessions online or onsite. We are expanding our team and are searching for an innovative and proactive candidate for the new role of Assistant Director of Operations for responsibilities such as project management, data analysis, and production management of the live sessions that occur on weekday afternoons and evenings. Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations for the MSF Program, the Assistant Director of Operations supports the program's delivery in responsibilities that include but are not limited to project management, data analysis, production management of class sessions in our blended classrooms, schedule coordination and program delivery both onsite at Georgetown and offsite.

Course Management, Student and Faculty Communication
  • Ensure that all course sites on the Canvas (LMS) are operational and without errors.
  • Manage an online proctoring tool (Proctorio for now).
  • Serve as the MSFLive Producer to ensure live sessions are held with little to no technical interruption, assist students as needed with troubleshooting technical issues, and prepare room for MSFLive sessions and close room when the sessions are finished for the day.
  • Participate in planning and operations review meetings with faculty and staff.
  • Provide technical advice and problem-solving assistance.
  • Monitor and report on quality of courses and student interactions; and suggest and implement quality improvements as agreed to by program leadership and faculty.
  • Help manage relationships between faculty and interdepartmental colleagues.


Logistical Operations Management
  • Assist with management of business processes and operations.
  • Assist in creating, communicating (and managing) complex scheduling issues to faculty and administrators and others as appropriate.
  • Assist, as needed, in planning and executing onsite activities.
  • Assist, as necessary, with registration process as it relates to student access to course material.
  • Assist, as necessary, with securing classroom space and event facilities.
  • May assist with the approval of all MSF marketing materials, specific events, social media, and PR.
  • May oversee student workers.
  • Secure copyright permissions and relevant teaching materials.
  • Maintain, save and organize all documents related to course site development.
  • Ensure operational processes are documented and updated.
  • Perform excellent customer relations and communications on behalf of program in day-to-day interactions with faculty, other staff, students, clients, and vendors.
  • Participate in regular meetings with program staff to provide project updates and other information as needed.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills
  • Creativity in providing value-add solutions within the parameters of the budget
  • Critical ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute
  • Critical eye for detail
  • Comfortable working in a large institution IT environment
  • Ability to build relationships with colleagues and key MSB stakeholders
  • Confidence to take initiative, ask questions and make recommendations with the end goal being process improvement and student satisfaction
  • Genuine desire to understand and engage with international cultures
  • Availability and willingness to regularly work week day afternoons and evenings (and occasional weekends) an/or to travel domestically and internationally as needed


Preferred qualifications
  • 1+ years of business experience in program or project management
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects
  • Expertise with Canvas (LMS)
  • Programming skills - e.g., HTML, Python, VBA
