Position Summary:

The UCI Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is dedicated to the education of nursing professionals who will improve patient care and promote population health locally and globally. The school strives to produce leaders in research, education, and clinical practice who will champion collaborative, compassionate, and interdisciplinary evidence-based practice. This NIH funded research project team including the program manager will improve health disparities in dementia care working with undergraduate and graduate students to contribute to the mission of the school.

The Community Research Project Manager will closely assist the primary Principal Investigator with the overall administration, direction, and conduct of the project and coordination of the study protocol and will be involved with all aspects of the day-to-day management of the project, including facilitating communication with community organizations and local medical offices, facilitating research team meetings, assisting with written and electronic communication to project participants, preparing scientific presentations and reports for the funding agency. In addition, the PM will train community health workers (CHW) who will conduct the home visits for this project as well as delegating tasks, and monitoring CHWs' performance.

Annual Compensation Range: $45,900.00 - $70,100.00

Required:

Person who has excellent communication and social skills as well as outstanding organizational ability would be best suited for this project. Preferred: 2 - 3 years of relevant work experience with a BA/BS or higher in a related field (e.g., Nursing, Public Health, Social Work, Psychology) or equivalent experience in community- based research projects (e.g., NIH, NSF, PCORI, Major Research/Professional Foundations as a program manager).

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with research team members and research participants. Working knowledge of community education, technical education, and / or training and development programs. Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Effective leadership skills, including directing and developing staff members. Demonstrated high-level communications skills to convey information in a clear and concise way. Demonstrated skill in interacting with persons in various social, cultural, economic and educational background. Strong attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to properly evaluate information, and prepare concise, well organized reports, summaries, and correspondence. Ability to think critically, compile data from various sources, and prepare reports. Skill in working independently, taking initiative and following through on all assignments. Ability to work as a supportive, cooperative member of a team. Ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions. Ability to establish and maintain files and records. Ability to drive to travel to community sites including interstate routes. Proficiency in GoogleDocs, MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Adobe PDF, Image editing Program, and Reference Managing program (e.g., EndNote) Certified in clinical trial research and IRB documentation.
