Description
This position will support the Registrar and Director of Enrollment Management, and will be instrumental in the development and direction of the CU Student Information System (CU-SIS), specifically in the areas of Campus Solutions. Functions may include but are not limited to leading a team that provides functional support, testing, reporting, process documentation, and training.

Job Duties:

  • Acts as a key participant in the maintenance and enhancement of the Oracle Student Information System for the units within Enrollment Management: the Office of the Registrar, Degree Audit and Transfer Credit, Admissions, and Orientation.
  • Analyzes, tests, and troubleshoots upgrades and enhancements to the student information system, as well as problems encountered, using appropriate technical resources.
  • Supports the Registrar and Senior Associate Registrar in development, implementation, maintenance, and management of Student Records, Campus Community, and Security modules within the Oracle Campus Solutions system.
  • Represents the campus as a technical and functional specialist within Student Records, Campus Community, and Security CU system modules.
  • Supports Office of the Registrar in execution of CU-SIS functions concerning student records processing, term setup, duplicate resolution, workflows, and reporting.
  • Key participant in the development and implementation of Document Management processing and workflow for Student Records functional processes.
  • Designs and executes reports and queries, data loads, unit testing, and data validation, approving or denying all data requests with respect to compliance to FERPA guidelines.
  • Works closely with Registrar and Campus Compliance Officer to ensure compliance with federal, state, CU system, and UCCS policies and procedures (federal guidelines also known as the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act or FERPA).
  • Contributing member of the Duplicate Resolution team, identifying and resolving duplicate student IDs, and contributing to Duplicate Resolution policies and procedures.
  • Provides leadership with recommendations and solutions to complex problems and issues.
  • Identifies the appropriate technical resources to develop detailed training and documentation.
  • Job Competencies:

  • Proven competency with business and/or student information systems, preferably Oracle Campus Solutions or IBM Cognos (or similar software).
  • Experience developing queries using SQL.
  • Knowledge of student records and registration business processes, defining user and technical requirements as well as end user support.
  • Knowledge of principals, practices, and techniques used in administering complex databases.
  • Experience developing and delivering technical training to an audience with varying levels of technical understanding.
  • Knowledge of student information systems, data structures, and application software. Oracle Campus Solutions experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to think critically to identify issues and provide recommendations for process improvement and procedure implementation.
  • Strong ability to organize tasks, resolve problems, balance multiple responsibilities, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Must be capable of simultaneously working on multiple, complex projects independently and with a team.
  • Experience with student success services on a campus with diverse student body, faculty and staff.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work well with people of all levels of information technology expertise and comfort in varied organizational relationships.

  • This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

    What We Offer:

    Salary Range: Generally starting at $53,315 to $66,644

    The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

    Qualifications
    Minimum Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Two or more years of experience developing complex reports and writing SQL queries.
  • Two or more years of experience working with databases and data sets. 
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in higher education, working with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Two years of experience as a business or system analyst (or similar role) working with enterprise software packages.
  • Experience in Oracle Campus Solutions and/or IBM Cognos.
  • Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit. Employee is occasionally

    required to move. Tasks may involve using a computer continuously for long periods of

    time. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
