The Scheduler/Planner plays a key role in FMD’s Operations & Maintenance Department by developing cost estimates, schedules, & work orders for structural work pertaining to interior finishes(paint & flooring). This position serves as the customer liaison and provides accurate estimates of both cost and time of projects. The Scheduler/Planner ensures customer satisfaction and quality control by inspecting work while in progress and upon completion. This position is responsible for communication with, receiving estimates from, & supervision of contractors when necessary. This position involves knowledge of all standard trade practices as well as University specific standards.
Additional job duties for this position include inputting Hazardous Waste records into ESD’s Chematix database. The position is responsible for directing work of other skilled craft persons. This position may also serve as an assistant to the shop manager & direct shop operations in his absence.
•Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
•Experience with AIM computer-based work order management system.
•Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
•Strong communication skills over phone, email, & in person.
•Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
•Knowledge of standard trade practices.
•Standing, walking, stooping, squatting, climbing stairs, working from standard or extended ladders and/or scaffolding and lifting up to 75 lbs during a normal 8 hr work shift.
