Job Description:

POSITION: Pre-Health Advisor and Career Services Specialist, beginning August 2021

Central's Office of Career Development and Civic Engagement seeks a pre-health advisor and coordinator of alumni experiential engagement opportunities. The successful candidate will provide support for current students pursing pre-health careers, post-graduate fellowships and scholarships, career-related alumni communication and programming. This position is the primary liaison for Allen College of Nursing, Palmer Chiropractic, and others with whom Central has a post-graduate articulation agreement.

Central's Office of Career Development and Civic Engagement is comprised of our internship, community-based learning, and international and domestic off-campus programs, and is comprised of collegial and dynamic staff members who are committed to the creation and delivery of highly experiential learning opportunities for our students. The office engages alumni in both identifying opportunities available for students as well as needs of alumni.

On average, 96% of Central graduates are employed, in graduate school, or completing meaningful service within one year of graduation. Approximately 95% of students seeking graduate study in a pre-health field are accepted into their first choice of graduate institution.


REQUIREMENTS: Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience in pre-health advising, as well as experience in career development, higher education, or related fields. A Master's degree is highly preferred.
