Business Analyst

 

The University of Tennessee Foundation (UTFI), Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst to join our advancement team. This position will focus on improving the points of meaningful interaction between Advancement Services and its clients, both internal (the Foundation and UT) and external (alumni, donors, and other constituents). The Business Analyst is also expected to develop a broad understanding of advancement processes and serves a key role in conducting needs assessments, researching project requirements, translating and simplifying complex technical concepts, and communicating outcomes. The Business Analyst has additional responsibilities as a first point of contact for Advancement Services (help desk) and as an administrator of the UT Foundation's Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system. In that role, the Business Analyst will be called upon to provide training for users of the CRM and will also make configuration changes to the CRM.

The Foundation is an interdependent nonprofit corporation that enriches the lives of the students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University of Tennessee through alumni engagement, financial stewardship and private investments. In central services, nearly 50 employees work together to engage and build meaningful relationships with alumni to raise financial, public and political support for the University of Tennessee.

Qualifications
Qualifications: Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in business, communications, computer science, or related field, and at least 3 years of experience working on complex projects in information technology. Candidate must also have 3 years of experience in a position that required customer service and/or leading discussions with colleagues. This might include providing training or support, or regularly leading meetings. The ideal candidate will be highly supportive of and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Job Skills: Candidates must have the ability to understand complex processes and translate them into simpler language, to learn technical skills, and ability to effectively communicate as a writer and/or speaker. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and organizational skills (including basic project management), investigative and research skills (demonstrating curiosity and self-motivation), and intermediate skills in essential software, including MS Office.
