Fellowship position in technology transfer with emphasis on transactional work. Opportunity to gain significant experience negotiating research contracts and intellectual property agreements. One year program with option for an additional year contingent upon funding and performance. Reports to Director of Licensing and Innovation support, Office of Commercialization and Economic Development in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Economic Development.
Requires demonstrated analytical, organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Minimum requirements include ability to work independently with customers (external and internal), experience with database management, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and complete tasks in a timely manner. Technical aptitude and experience understanding biological and medical technologies a plus.
JD or Masters required, experience in the biomedical sciences or a related discipline preferred.Qualifications and Experience:
-Negotiate intellectual property management agreements consistent with University business requirements and approved contract terms.
-Negotiate licenses for tangible property and copyright consistent with University business requirements and approved contract terms.
-Negotiate Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs) and Nondisclosure Agreements (NDAs) consistent with University business requirements and approved contract terms.
-Coordinate approval and signature of agreements as appropriate with the necessary parties.
-Work with MTA Manager and License Manager to ensure that all executed agreements are electronically filed and copies are provided to the appropriate parties.
-Instructs researchers as needed regarding compliance with terms of agreements including publication, intellectual property and other contractual requirements.
-Provide assistance with other transactional matters as requested.
