Description of Work:

With a focus on research for cervical cancer prevention, we are hiring a full-time Project Coordinator based at UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health in Chapel Hill, NC. The coordinator would primarily work on two novel studies: The first one is to assess the potential for future implementation of self-collection kits within Federally Qualified Health Centers in North Carolina, and the second one, The My Body My Test study, is a screening study aimed to increase screening among infrequently screened, medically underserved women. Self-collection is a novel approach to improving cervical cancer screening completion. The Project Coordinator will be in charge of study implementation as part of a friendly and productive team that includes UNC faculty, staff, and students. S/he will directly manage day-to-day study activities and serve as the main point of contact for project partners. Potential for position to include to an international global health site in the future. This position is a good fit for a recent graduate of an MPH or other public health-related Masters program.

• Manage day-to-day study procedures including IRB applications, budget oversight, self-test kit processing, participant tracking, outcome tracking with clinics, and other tasks as needed

• Regularly communicate with and support health center staff and other community partners on study logistics and successful protocol implementation

• Organize weekly study team meetings to report progress and solve emergent problems, and other team logistics
• Perform data collection, quality assurance checking and monitoring; assist with data management activities

Education and Experience:

State Minimum Training & Experience : Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.


• Master’s degree in public health, behavioral science, epidemiology, or related field

• Training in project management; or two or more years’ experience in project management

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Detail-orientation, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment


• Familiarity with research study design and implementation

• Experience with data management and quality control

• Experience with writing grant proposals and academic publications
