Department Description:

The Center for Aging & Health (CAH) and the Division of Geriatric Medicine are organizations within the School of Medicine. Both organizations report to Dr. Jan Busby-Whitehead, Director of CAH and Division Chief. The CAH is an interdisciplinary group of professionals who promote the health and well-being of older citizens. The mission is to promote collaborative basic and clinical science research in aging, to develop innovative geriatrics and gerontological education programs for physicians and multidisciplinary health professionals, and to provide consultation to agencies who serve older citizens.

Position Description:

Responsibilities include project management of all marketing materials for the Center for Aging and Health, and the Division of Geriatric Medicine. Duties will include preparation of all marketing materials (print, electronic. Web-based content, etc.). Responsibilities will include drafting all content, and updating website for the Center and Division, and writing articles for Vital Signs, Magazines, etc. This position will be responsible for establishing/maintaining the social media presence as related to all Center and Division grants, fellowships, and other programs.

This position will also coordinate marketing events including all logistics for recruitment at national meetings, and marketing of programs/clinics at local events (i.e. Wellness Fairs, Care Giver’s Conferences, etc.). This position will also provide administrative assistance for various grants in the Center for Aging and Health. This can include working on schedules/logistics, tabulation of data, etc. Duties will also include setting up meetings, and other program coordination.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

Experience in website design, preparation of marketing materials, and establishing/maintaining a social media presence is necessary. Excellent communication and organizational skills needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in communication studies or marketing preferred.
