North Carolina State University competes as an NCAA Division I team in the Atlantic Coast Conference.Essential Job Duties:
The Director for Marketing develops and implements integrated marketing, sales, and engagement campaigns utilizing traditional, new, social, and digital media to increase revenue, fan experience & attendance, and brand awareness for NC State Athletics.
Responsibilities of the Director for Marketing include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the marketing director for select Wolfpack sports.
- Coordinate campaigns/activities with other External Relations units, with an emphasis on quality control as related to marketing, branding, customer service, and ticket sales.
- Work with Wolfpack Sports Properties to ensure fulfillment and activation of Athletics’ corporate and broadcast partnerships.
- Represent the department at events and activities while fostering relationships with students, donors and University constituents.
- Establish contracts with external partners and vendors via University RFP and purchasing procedures while also being the point of contact for on-going services.
- Develop and coordinate Athletics special events, such as Primetime with the Pack.
- Supervise a staff of two (2), as well as a student workforce.
- Assist the Senior Associate AD for Marketing and Ticket Services in managing the annual budget.
Other duties as assigned by Administration.Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or a related field, plus a minimum of five years of progressively responsible leadership and achievement in sports marketing for intercollegiate or professional sports organization(s) and/or a communications/marketing agency.Other Required Qualifications:
Direct marketing experience and in-depth knowledge of the RDU market or similarly competitive market.
Experience managing marketing staff.
Excellent communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as a team player
Demonstrate creativity within a structured environment
Ability to work non-traditional hours, as needed
Working knowledge of NCAA compliance rules and regulations as well as experience with ACC policies and procedures.Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in a related field
Social media and online experience, including producing and featuring multi-media contentRequired License(s) or Certification(s):
