Assistant Dean for Student-Athlete Academic Support, Center for Student Success June 7th 2021

Allegheny College, a small selective national liberal arts college and a member of the NCAA Division III and North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC), is currently seeking applications to fill the newly created position of Assistant Dean for Student-Athlete Academic Support. The position is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Associate Dean in the Maytum Center for Student Success. The Assistant Dean will join a team of Assistant Deans to serve as a primary provider of academic advising and support for student athletes who make up 27% of the student body. With student retention at the forefront, the Assistant Dean will work closely with Enrollment and Athletics to provide proactive and responsive support and programming, consultation for prospective students and families, and collaborate with coaches in regards to academic advising, alerts, policies, and procedures and athletic eligibility. Regular attendance at athletics events will be expected.

This position requires 3-5 years of professional experience in higher education. A Master’s degree in a related field and demonstrated cultural competence in working with student athletes from diverse backgrounds is preferred. Prior collegiate athletic experience is recommended. This position requires efficient use of Google Suite products in a networked computing environment.
