Donor Recruiter, Marrow Donor Program - Georgetown University Medical Center

Primary responsibility of the Donor Recruiter is to develop and implement new strategies to drive recruitment activities throughout the military communities. The Donor Recruiter will:

  • Generate recruitment activities with all branches of the United States military and assigned market to recruit educated and Committed donors.
  • Schedule two weekly two steps marrow drives by conducting educational briefings with two units and conduct bone marrow drives with those already educated squadrons the following week.
  • Continue educating two units a week and conducting two marrow drives a week ensuring that those recruited are quality well educated/committed donors by using a 2-step method to recruits and enroll marrow donors for the Department of Defense Donor Center.
  • Develop new promotional materials in support of the bone marrow drives.
  • Frequently interact with Senior Recruiter, Installation Public Affairs Office, Installation Leadership, Volunteer Project Leaders, Program Advocates, Donor Center Coordinators, Team Leaders, Manager, Program Directors and Donor Center Staff, DoD/Military personnel, and various integral partners and agencies.
  • Report directly to manager- Recruitment Services.
  • Communicate via telephone, fax, email, letters and forms, face-to-face, and in other electronic formats with internal and external staff and partnering agencies.

These functions are performed in accordance with Georgetown University Medical Center's philosophy, policies, procedures and standards. The Donor Recruiter position significantly impacts integrity, accreditation status, reputation, and functionality of Donor Center, relationships with integral partners and agencies.

  • Academic: Minimum requirements High School Diploma. Associate degree preferred. Upon evaluation, equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree. Military Experience required.
  • Practical Experience: 1-2 years social media experience preferred, Healthcare experience preferred
  • Technical Qualification: Computer experience with word processing, familiar with social media resources such as Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram. Valid driver license, valid personal credit card for travel expenses, subject to reimbursement. Upon hire, prior military experience preferred and maintain authorization for presence on military and DoD installations.
  • Other Skills: Advance organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communications skills. Ability to work with colleagues and volunteers of diverse backgrounds and attention to details.
