Research Assistant - Georgetown University Medical Center

Requirements

Our team is looking for a Research Assistant who would be willing to work with human infectious agents, HIV and others pathogens in human and animal models. Duties include:
  • Responsible of the operation and maintenance of the flow cytometer.
  • Perform flow cytometry-based immunological assays
  • Flow cytometry and animal models (previous experience preferable).
  • Perform cellular immunology assays, molecular biology assays and flow cytometry based immune assays and cell culture.
  • Assist PI with experiments involving small rodents (mice) and colony maintenance.
  • When appropriate, assist other laboratory personnel in carrying out experiments, training and other duties.
  • Cell culture of primary human T cells, and work with small rodents (mice).
  • Maintains and updates specific databases.
  • Keep good records of experiments, reports result applicable to the unit/area of research.
  • Perform ordering of reagents.


Qualifications
  • College and/or Masters Science.
  • Experience working in a lab with cellular techniques, tissue culture human and/or mice.
  • Technical qualifications and specialized certifications necessary to successfully complete the work should also be listed in this area.
