Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing systematically planned and delivered instruction in lecture and laboratory environments, designing and developing chemistry curriculum, evaluating chemistry lectures and laboratories, and advising students. Candidate must remain current in the chemistry discipline and show evidence of ongoing professional development. Applicants must be willing to teach and develop chemistry courses for traditional, on-line, hybrid, and off-campus courses with variable schedules.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

This position requires a master's degree in chemistry or a master's degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in chemistry.

Preferred Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with at least two (2) years of demonstrated excellence in teaching undergraduate chemistry at the community college level. Organic chemistry teaching experience a plus. Excellent customer service, interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills are essential. The successful candidate must be goal-oriented and demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education. Must have the ability to work both individually and in a team, and operate and troubleshoot routine chemistry instrumentation. Knowledge of instructional technology and modern office software is essential.
