Drew University is seeking applications for a 2-year contract position as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the Theological School. We seek a teacher-scholar who shares Drew’s mission and values, and commitment to student-centered curriculum to serve in academic administration during a transitional time at the school, working at first with the Interim Dean and then with the newly named permanent Dean of the Theological School.

Key Responsibilities:

Drew Theological School, an ecumenically-minded and social justice-oriented United Methodist seminary rooted in the broad Wesleyan/Methodist tradition, welcomes proactive and detail-oriented professionals who have administrative experience or demonstrated promise for managing the academic programs of a Theological School.

Responsibilities include curriculum and course planning, hiring adjunct faculty, working with faculty on student and degree assessment, and supervising graduate academic services.

This position works closely with academic leaders across campus to support graduate program development and student support in both the Theological School and the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies. The associate dean usually teaches one course in the Theological School.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Candidates must have a doctoral degree and experience teaching in a field relevant to the curriculum of the Theological School.

  • We seek applicants who share Drew’s commitment to educating masters students pursuing vocations in congregations, social advocacy, and chaplaincy settings.
