Position Summary


The Grant Accountant prepares financial reports and analyses for grants/contracts, and other restricted funds. Reviews transactions and monitors compliance with agency guidelines. Reconciles accounts and prepares necessary adjusting entries.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Prepares and maintains schedule of fiscal reporting deadlines.Insures timely submission of financial reports to grantors and donors.Reviews grant transactions monthly and prepares updates summary grant financial schedule for Vice President.Insures accuracy of accounting records.Prepares and submits required billing reports for agencies to reimburse Livingstone College.Reviews project financial statements and reports with Project Directors/Director of Sponsored Programs.Establishes and maintains grant and restricted: endowment fund files.Prepare and insures budgets are complete.Reconciles expenditures for grants with Office of Sponsored Programs quarterly.Prepares adjusting entries needed to correct accounts.Prepares ad hoc reports and analyses requested by senior management.Prepares necessary reports for audit preparationsPrepares and assists with month-end and year-end closing entries.Contacts/meets with project directors, agency officials and others to resolve concerns and discrepancies related to grant and restricted fund transactions.Serves as back-up for senior accountant.Performs other duties as assigned.
