Position Summary

 

The Director of Procurement is responsible for implementing College

purchasing guidelines and procedures.  Also responsible for negotiating

all contracts with vendors for optimal pricing by accepting and

evaluating bids and quotations for goods and services.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Develop strong working relationship with all college vendors

Using a requisition process system, the agent is responsible for all purchases on campus.  Information must be entered into the College system and forwarded to the Accounts Payable department in a timely fashion

Issues purchasing procedures and makes recommendations for efficiency improvements

Travel requisitions are also the responsibility of the purchasing department

Requisitions for travel by all campus personnel must be secured by the agent with the College credit card

Maintains fixed asset software and all fixed asset records

Responsible for receipt of all goods, tagging and documentation of equipment when received

Responsible for maintaining lease location and service information for all leased equipment and maintaining inventory control

Maintains purchase order records

Coordinates and assists with researching problem invoices or orders with Accounts Payable

Supervises students and staff assigned

Prepares purchasing and fix asset reports requested

Performs special analysis and other duties as assigned

Competencies: Strong Analytical and Problem Solving skills accompanied with exemplary leadership skills to evolve a team forward moving for the betterment of the organization.  Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.

 

 

 

 

Education/ Experience

 

What you will need to be successful!

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Accounting 

 

Knowledge of purchasing procedures and standards are required.

Must have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills

Incumbent should be capable of reading and interpreting instructions and exhibit good judgement in representing the College to vendors

Must be confident and poised to deal effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds

Must be organized and capable of supervising and directing the work of students and staff assigned

Excellent computer skills are also required

 

The Director should possess the following computer capabilities:

Microsoft office word, excel/access, PowerPoint, outlookJenzabar
