Livingstone College seeks applications for Dean of the Division of
Liberal Arts & Humanities. Candidate must be able to provide leadership for
planning and implementing academic programs, communicate the college’s
mission and goals to internal and external audiences, recruit and retain
students and faculty, and raise funds from external sources. The Division
Dean reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. This is a twelve month
position. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, vita, unofficial

is July 1, 2021.

The Division Dean will provide instructional leadership and will ensure the effective operation of the Division of Liberal Arts & Humanities. The Dean will teach six credit hours per semester. Other areas of responsibility include (1) faculty and staff supervision; (2) evaluation; (3) planning; (4) leading various initiatives; (5) budgeting; (6) curriculum development; (7) course and program scheduling; (8) recruitment and registration; (9) problem solving for faculty and students; (10) strategic planning and quality improvement of programs; (11) learning outcomes assessment; (12) program-level review and accreditation.
What you will need to be successful!
Candidate must have a PhD in one of the principles disciplines of the liberal arts (Criminal Justice, English, History, Music, Political Science, Religious Studies, Spanish, Sociology or Theatre Arts). Candidate must have a minimum of five years of administrative experience as a Department Chair, Dean or Program Coordinator. Candidate must have a proven track record of successful leadership, scholarship, program development, assessment, administrative achievement, and professional service.
