Athletic and Recreation Assistant of Operations Athletic and Recreation Assistant of Operations Athletic and Recreation Assistant of Operations Athletic and Recreation Assistant of Operations Coe College is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Athletic and Recreation Assistant of Operations. This position serves as part of the athletic and recreation administrative team. The position supports the athletic/recreation department in the strategic development, administration, and implementation of a competitive athletic program, creative and aggressive auxiliary services program, and a comprehensive club and intramurals sport program. Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the liaison to advancement regarding fundraising and alumni events
  • Responsible for assisting with the scheduling, planning, and management of intercollegiate contests and events which includes, but is not limited to, game day management, game day operations, and pre/post game communication.
  • Supervision of game day staff including: student workers and event staff, contracted vendors, facility management staff, the Department of Sports Information, equipment staff, and ticket operations.
  • Assist with day-to-day maintenance and operation of all athletic department facilities.
  • Works with the Assistant Athletic & Recreation Director & Director of Club Sports and Intramurals on the development, administration and evaluation of the Intramural and Club Sports Programs.
  • Assist with the coordination of daily practice and game schedules, travel procedures and requirements, facility reservations & membership policies for the Intramural and Club Sports program.
  • Collaborate with Assistant Athletic & Recreation Director & Director of Club Sports and Intramurals in the management and supervision of the Club Sport teams which includes, but is not limited to, providing direction, guidance and training to all club sport officers, coaches and advisors to ensure compliance with all departmental and college rules and regulations, fostering leadership/personal development, well-being and sound financial management.
  • Serves as the Director of the Kohawk All-Sports Camp which includes, but is not limited to, recruitment and hiring of camp counselors, staff and volunteers; training of camp counselors and support staff; marketing the camps; developing effective written programs and learning outcomes of the camp’s daily activities; and record keeping and assessment of the overall program.
  • Assist with Admission visitation weekends to represent the department’s intramural programming and current club sports.
  • Works with the athletic administration to facilitate growth in the Athletic and Recreation auxiliary programming model.
  • Completes additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree required, master’s preferred, in Sport Management, Exercise Science, Recreation/Leisure Administration, Education or related field.
  • Experience in collegiate recreational sports with progressive responsibilities.
  • Successful completion of a background check in accordance with Coe College policy.

  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Organization and technology skills needed to effectively administer club and intramural programs.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of the philosophy of intercollegiate sports in a liberal arts institution and be guided accordingly in all sports information and dissemination work on behalf of Coe College.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with the Director of Athletics, all coaches, and student-athletes.
