Position Summary:

The Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine offers three dynamic MBA programs – plus PhD, specialty masters and undergraduate business degrees – that prepare business leaders for our digitally driven world. Through our programs, students acquire the exceptional ability to grow their organizations through strategic innovation, analytical decision-making, digital information technology and collaborative execution. While the Merage School is relatively young, it has quickly grown to rank consistently among the top five percent of all business programs worldwide through exceptional student recruitment, world-class faculty, a strong alumni network and close relationships with both individual business executives and global corporations. This position is located in the UCI Paul Merage School of Business Office of Executive Education (OEE). The OEE provides short term, career development courses for professional and executive development. These programs are designed for executives, managers and employees at all levels of a company.

Under the general direction of the Director, Executive Education and consistent with the long-range goals and objectives of The Paul Merage School of Business, the primary responsibilities of the Associate Director will be to develop new Executive Education business for The Paul Merage School of Business. The Associate Director will develop, sell, and implement in-house corporate and public programs. Content area will be dictated by customer needs and changing market environment. Acts as a spokesperson for the unit with corporate business leaders, human resource managers and other executive managers. The individual will leverage opportunities with existing clients and be expected to increase the acquisition of new clients. This position is responsible for developing and managing new client business development efforts, including introduction of new services to prospective companies, working with program faculty, proposal development, and closing new clients.

Compensation Range:

$80,000.00 - $90,000.00

Required:

5+ years’ experience in University Executive Education or Continuing Education, Corporate Learning and Development, or related professional development field.

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Proven record of client relationship management.

Demonstrates thorough knowledge of the organization's policies and procedures; advanced knowledge of functional area and understands how work impacts other areas of public educational programs.

Advanced analytical, problem solving, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

Skill in using business software systems in the completion of work assignments (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Advanced knowledge of accredited and / or certificate program instruction and delivery methodologies, the organization, market and business strategies.

Ability to work independently and as a highly successful team member.

Preferred:

MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Special Conditions Required:

Able to work occasional nights and weekends to support programs.
