The Division Administrator oversees the administration of the Gastroenterology division. In conjunction with the Division Chief, the incumbent will be responsible for development and implementation of long range planning, management and supervision of administrative operations in support of its research, clinical service and teaching operations. Under the general direction of the Department of Medicine's Chief Administrative Officer and Division Chief, the MSO will be responsible for the organization of work, supervision of administrative staff, budget development, financial control, business development, education program administration, process improvement and problem solving in the delivery of related program services within the Division. Compensation Range: $62,400.00 - $95,000.00 Department Website: https://www.medicine.uci.edu/gastroenterology/index.asp Required: 7-9 Years of relevant experience.Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training. Bachelor’s Degree in business/Healthcare administration or equivalent combination of education and experienceInterpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills. Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines. Ability to use discretion and maintain confidentiality. Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service. Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees. 3–5-year experience in managing division/departments in a complex matrix of comparable level of experience. Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint Demonstrated fiscal management capabilities, including effective expense reduction, revenue increase, utilization management, and budget control Skill in projecting and monitoring income and spending trends on the basis of existing revenue and cost data. Skill to design, develop and implement computerized tracking system. Proven personnel management strength, including demonstrated ability to select, motivate, develop, evaluate performance, discipline, and promote collaborative team efforts. Preferred: Familiarity with UCI on-line financial systemsThorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management. Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs. Final candidate subject to background check.
