The Technical Support Team Lead/Supervisor in the Student Leadership & Service department oversees marketing and technical support for campus wide computer programs through the in-house Technical Support Team. This individual is proficient in creation of print and digital media and supervises a team of 3-4 designers and IT experts. The Technical Support Team Supervisor manages the Engage student involvement software by providing training, troubleshooting, and administrative support. This individual communicates and consults with those in and outside of the department on a daily basis. The SLS Technical Support Team also supports departments within the Student Development & Services Division.
Duties and Responsibilities
Uphold and adhere to the University Mission/Vision Statements and Honor Code values. Supervise, train, and evaluate 3-4 student employees in the Media Team.
Facilitate weekly team meetings as well as one on one meetings with direct reports.
Attend weekly meetings with SLS Coordinator to measure stewardship progress.
Ensure the organization and production of publicity for activities/events through digital, print, online, social media, etc.
Ensure policies and procedures are maintained/updated on Dropbox/Cloud.
Oversee user-training on Technical Support Team processes and the Engage software.
Regularly use basic principles of web publishing, access, and file transfer protocols.
Oversee SLS and other websites within the Student Development & Services Division, as needed.
Communicate with internal and external vendors, partners, and entities, including but not limited to Print Services, University Communications, Ke Alakai, University departments, external companies, etc.
Maintains Engage software, including ensuring cohesive publicity, training individuals to use it, and supporting the development of co-curricular paths and transcripts.
Oversees data analysis and assessment within SLS programming.
Provide consultation and services within the SLS department and Student Development & Services Division.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience in graphic design.
Experience overseeing projects from start to finish (project management).
Experience in Adobe software including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Previous experience in assessment and data analysis.
Ability to train others in processes and technical information/software.
Familiar with basic principles of web publishing, security, and file transfer protocols.
Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail.
Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, in writing and in person. Ability to explain technical procedures/problems to non-technical audiences.
Experience in customer service skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in Social media, video editing, etc.
Previous experience supervising the work of others.
2.5 GPA with 2 consecutive semesters on campus.
Familiarity with Campus Labs Engage platform.
Knowledge of copyright and intellectual property issues pertaining to web design.
Familiarity with Facebook and social networking tools.
Student with at least two years left at BYUH.
