Assumes responsibility for the coordination of the provision of Nursing Services insuring the continuous delivery of safe, evidenced based nursing care.  Collaborates with physicians, nursing administration, unit directors and staff to expedite patient throughput across the care spectrum.  Responsible for the coordination of admission, transfer, discharge and overall flow of patients to assure optimal utilization of resources.  Continuously monitors and adjusts staffing in nursing units to assure appropriate staffing levels. Acts as administrative representative and communicates appropriate information to administration in a timely manner. 

Qualifications:

1.    Registered Nurse with current and active licensure in the State of Ohio.

2.    BSN or 10 years of clinical RN experience required, MSN preferred.

3.    Minimum of three years’ experience at a supervisory level preferred.

4.    Evidence of clinical expertise.

5.    BLS required.

6.    ACLS required (If not current, must be obtained within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter)

7.    Previous Case Management experience preferred.

8.    Weekend/holiday rotation.

9.    Flexibility in daily assignment as needed.

10.  Physical requirements:

a.    visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable;

b.    ability to hear (with or without aides)

c.     ability to orally communicate

d.    good manual dexterity

e.    ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally

f.      ability to stand, walk frequently

g.    ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel frequently; and

h.    Ability to perform CPR.

Working Conditions:Working conditions include but are not limited to an environment of high stress where exposure to blood borne pathogens and other infectious agents, unpleasant odors, limited space, dust and fumes, variations in environmental temperature, hazardous chemicals, loud noise, radiation risk, laser exposure, physically demanding workloads, heavy lifting of at least 50 pounds but often more. Many repetitive activities and motions such as bending, standing and walking for extended periods of time are required. Some risk of verbal, physical and emotional aggression may be experienced.
