  • Position Description:

    The AssistantDirector of Department Student Services (ADDSS) contributes to the mission andvision of the university by providing excellent customer service through performingintegrated academic advisement and consultation of prospective, current, andformer students within the College of Engineering. This position assists informulating procedures and processes involved in developing programs andsystems that ensure a positive student experience.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor'sdegree and at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the dutiesand responsibilities specified.
    Ability to analyze program requirements, universityrequirements, and/or curriculum/graduation requirements.
    Ability to analyze course prerequisites, certification,and/or curriculum/graduation requirements.
    Knowledge of academic standards governing studentprobation, suspension, and/or expulsion.
    Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and inwriting.
    Exhibits active listening skills.
    Knowledge of student recruitment and retention issues.
    Skilled in interviewing and advising.
    Skilled in public relations.

    Working Conditions:Works in a professional office environment with possible high stress levels.
