Food Service Administrator III (FSA III) employees are responsible for the coordination and execution of a complex or multi-unit department. These vacancies may occur in departments across the Urbana-Champaign campus.
Typical duties include:1. assists in planning and implementing overall policies, procedures, objectives, and methods2. develops and plans menus, standardized recipes, new product research, and preparation methods and techniques3. coordinates and directs training programs that are conducive to the development of employees and staff personnel4. develops and maintains a good public relations program in relation to students, guests, and other university personnel5. plans sound safety and proper maintenance programs6. assists in the preparation of departmental budgets and directs subordinates in complying with and implementing established budgets7. assists in organizational development; participates in planning future installations; and studies and recommends plant, staff, and equipment needs8. counsels employees and supervisors concerning departmental objectives9. makes recommendations as to most efficient use of personnel10. reviews and analyzes reports and suggests corrective action11. assists in interviewing and evaluating job applicants12. prepares unit master work schedules in relation to budget and operational requirements13. determines specifications for food and supplies14. performs other related duties as assigned

Food Service Administrator III positions are benefits-eligible civil service positions. Most positions are full-time (37.5 hours per week), 12 months per year. The minimum stating salary is $24.81 per hour.
