Position Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking a Researcher Assistant Professor with strong skills in the study of cognitive development and developmental neuroimaging, with particular emphasis on predictive analysis of diffusion imaging. The applicant is expected to be a skilled researcher with excellent experience in research paper writing. Methodological experience in processing diffusion MRI data and the assessment of cognitive and behavioral development in children is a necessity. The position is full time with .75FTE, fixed-term at the Research Assistant Professor level.

Educational Requirements:

Successful candidates are expected to have a PhD in psychology, neuroscience or related fields.

Qualifications and Experience:

The primary duties will include collaborative research in medical image analysis of early developmental human brain MRI data. The candidate will be expected to participate in data collection, analysis and reporting of results from the UNC Early Brain Development Study, including normal development and development in children at high risk for psychiatric disorders. Strong background relating cognitive development to brain development assessed with imaging is necessary.
