Responsibilities

Administer, review, account, report, coordinate and evaluate the Foundation's investment programs and all its invested assets. Develop and maintain complex processes to account for these investments, distribute return and spending to participants, performance calculation and reporting. Provide financial statement information and footnotes, and monitor compliance to policies and laws. Perform rigorous ongoing due diligence processes on investment managers to achieve an unqualified opinion in the annual audit. Coordinate all investments related activities of the Foundation.

Collaborates with CFO to develop and maintain investment spending policies to achieve departmental, DSO, and University goals and objectives. Monitor compliance to adopted policies. Provide guidance to and supervise one direct report and one student intern who assists in the implementation of daily actions and activities related to administration, reporting and oversight of Foundation's investment policies.

Work with consultant to provide information to the Foundation's Investment Committee and to execute their decisions. Review investment manager contracts and other legal documents in order to establish new investment relationships. Collaborate with custodian to fund or liquidate investments as directed by Committee decisions. Monitor and resolve issues with custodian, investment managers, and investment consultants.

Administer, account for and report on all planned giving investment vehicles, including those invested by the Foundation's trust administrator and those invested with outside trustees. Maintain complex processes and procedures to account for all planned gifts and its applicable investments, and preparation of financial statement information.

Responsible for preparing the annual revenue budget projections for funding the Foundation's Operation. Review actual income to assure budgeted expectations are met; and if not, explain variances. Model revenue projections and recommend alternative funding sources under various assumptions and scenarios.

Assist Foundation's CFO in supporting and providing requested information and reports to members of the Investment Committee, auditors, professional organizations, donors University departmental representatives, Foundation Staff and specialized service providers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and six years of experiences related to budget, financial and/or accounting services or a high school diploma or equivalent and ten years of experience. (Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to ten years.)

Ability to evaluate process effectiveness and develop change or alternatives.

Ability to compile, review, and reconcile date for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.

Ability to strategically plan and serve as a catalyst for organizational change, cultivate a shared vision with others, and motivate others to transfer vision into action.

Ability to utilize problem solving skills.

Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.

Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related University policies, procedures, principles and practices.

Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.

Knowledge of contract administration.

Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Knowledge of principles and practices of project planning, development and evaluation.

Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of accounting, budgeting, and cost control procedures.

Skills in preparing clear and concise reports, policies, procedures, correspondences, and other written materials.

Preferred

Experience in a governmental or non-profit business environment.

Experience interpreting and applying related federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
