Department Summary:

A wide range of student- and faculty-centered services are the cornerstone of the Libraries’ integral role in the University of North Texas community.

As the most-used service on campus and an essential component of education and research at the University of North Texas, the Libraries offer access to more than 6 million items (print and digital) along with expert personnel to assist patrons in achieving their academic and scholarly goals.

We provide innovative programs and support to enhance the relationship between teaching and learning at the University of North Texas.

Libraries Technology and Computer Operations (Lib TACO) provides IT solutions and support for the UNT Libraries. This includes staff workstations and software, student computer lab workstations, printing, esports & gaming, design and maintenance of lab facilities, makerspace initiatives, electronic resources, and things yet to come.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for the daily operations of the assigned library remote storage location including resource allocation, supervising student employees, and policy enforcement. The role assists in planning, working with other departments to coordinate efforts, and verifying shipping/receiving manifests.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma/GED equivalent and four years of experience in inventory, purchasing or related field. Substitution of education for experience allowed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Skill in making mathematical calculations and computations.
• Ability to keep records, to assemble and organize data, and to prepare and submit reports in acceptable formats.
• Supervisory skills.
• Experience in inventory stock control which includes purchasing, receiving and distributing stock.
• Experience with computer data base systems and Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of State of Texas purchasing and capital equipment, inventory system a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications:
Supervisory experience a plus but not required.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting up to 25 pounds, Sitting, Standing, Walking, Writing, Ability to communicate


Utilizes UNT Libraries database and systems for inventory and quality control.


Maintains departmental equipment and assets, documenting issues, and coordinating with vendors for repair.


Maintains a professional environment, provides training to student employees, and maintains good rapport with other departments.


Responsible for fielding requests and issues, and maintaining quality of services while adhering to service level agreements.


Assists with training programs for inventory control, asset management, and safety.


Completes monthly audits and quality assurance reports.
