Department Summary:

The Department of Medical Education provides educational support services to TCOM and to other health science center programs. Faculty and staff in the department schedule medical school classes, coordinate the scheduling of all other classes, support curriculum development activities in the medical school, conduct faculty development programs designed for relevant professional development of all faculty, and contribute to educational research.

Medical Education assists with basic science and clinical science faculty review, and provides staff support to the Curriculum Committee and course director groups that carry out the improvement and development of our osteopathic curriculum.

Position Summary:

The Medical Education Department at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire an Assistant Professor for Medical Education to join our team as a Clinical Site Coordinator in Midland, Texas.

Minimum Qualifications:

DO or MD

Required License / Registration / Certification:

Unrestricted Texas Medical License and ABMS or AOA certification.

Physical Requirements:

Carrying, Sitting, Standing, Twisting, Walking, Writing, Grasp, Talk or Hear, Ability to communicate

Description of Job Duty:

Arrange and manage all rotations for PCPP students and/or other TCOM students up to a potential cohort or its equivalent of 12 students in Midland. Work collaboratively with our Office of Osteopathic Clinical Education assuring all requirements of clinical training are being met. This would include recruitment of adequate teaching sites, preceptors, hospital partnerships, and resources to fulfill the requirements of clinical training within each clerkship.
