Position Summary

The Department of Human Development and Family Studies (HDFS), in the College of Social Science at Michigan State University (, seeks an outstanding candidate to support the functioning of the early childhood program starting on August 16, 2021. This is a half time position that will run for the academic year. The candidate will teach courses for early childhood students and assist in the Child Development Laboratories. The candidate would have the following specific responsibilities: Teach HDFS 321/321L in the Fall Semester of 2021; Teach HDFS 321/321L and HDFS 322/322L in the Spring Semester 2022; Teach one additional course as assigned by the Department Chair; Provide assistance to the Director of the Child Development Laboratories.

Required Degree

Masters -Early Childhood Education

Desired Degree

Doctorate -Early Childhood Education

Minimum Requirements

A graduate degree in early child education; Evidence of the ability to teach courses in early childhood; Evidence of the ability to mentor early childhood undergraduate and graduate students; Knowledge and experience working in an early childhood educational setting.
