Job Description:UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking an intermediate-level, End User Computing Specialist to join the Technical Support Services - Law team in Academic Technology, a unit within UFIT. This team provides IT services to the College of Law.
Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.
Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
- Providing high-level first and second tier technical support for instructors using classroom technology and audio-visual equipment support in all College of Law's classrooms
- Responding to and resolve technical assistance from faculty, staff, and students.
- Assisting in the development of completed system schematics, equipment lists, requisitions, physical room and equipment integrations plans to ensure the designed system will meet end users’ needs and campus standards.
The UF Information Technology division is comprised of seven departments reporting to the Vice President & Chief Information Officer. The departments reporting directly to the VP & CIO are: Academic Technology, Research Computing, Infrastructure & Communication Technology, Enterprise Systems, Information Security Office, and the UFIT Business Center. With established governance advisory committees and a set of well-defined, transparent processes aiding decision-making, UFIT strives to provide exceptional IT services in support of UF’s mission. Minimum Requirements:Associate degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience.
Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

EXPERIENCE
- Expert knowledge in the Windows, Macintosh, mobile device operating systems and applications
KNOWLEDGE
- Awareness of current standards and trends in IT and emerging technology
- Basic to intermediate understanding of Microsoft Active Directory environments
- Understanding of Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft Exchange
SKILLS
- Demonstrate high levels of customer service delivery in an IT Desktop Support role
- Outstanding communicator and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills; and the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with a diverse constituency
- Excellent organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision
- Accuracy and attention to detail
