Advertised Job Summary:

The position serves as the Department Human Resources Representative for the Department of Psychology. This position plans, coordinates, and performs all human resources activities for the Department of Psychology and the Chair of the Psychology Department. Will process and submit Human Resources actions required for all faculty and staff positions via People Admin System, as well as student hires in the HCM PeopleSoft System. Requests funding information and processes the required Human Resources actions for Faculty Summer ECOM. Maintains a report of all faculty and staff positions in the Department of Psychology. Answers inquiries regarding Human Resources transactions. Facilitate the activities for reviews of faculty, including tenure and promotion.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Bachelor’s degree and 2 years related experience in business management, public administration, or administrative services; or equivalency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with PeopleAdmin Talent Management System and Human Resources, training in preparing tenure and promotion files, and demonstration of strong interpersonal skills including excellent oral and written skills.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Ability to analyze and present ideas in a clear and concise manner, both orally and in writing. Strong team player skills and the ability to work harmoniously with a diverse workforce. Writing skills sufficient to compose and edit a variety of documents using correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation, with the ability to pay close attention to detail and proofread work carefully. Good organizational, time management, customer service and problem solving skills, and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions. Ability to take initiative and use independent judgment. Proactive and creative, identifying process improvement opportunities.
