Advertised Job Summary:

The position will help develop intervention content, coordinate aspects of the study, and conduct study intervention classes. This employee will conduct one-on-one in-person and phone counseling sessions as well as conduct group sessions with study participants. The position will also lead cooking demonstrations.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

A Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics or related field and 6 months experience in a clinical, public health or institutional setting. Registered Dietitian and Licensed Dietitian in South Carolina or eligible to become registered and licensed.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience assisting with clinical/behavioral research studies or healthy lifestyle programs in community settings.


Expertise in or experience with conducting dietary intervention trials or healthy eating and active living classes. Culturally-tailored cooking for an all African American study group (plant-based, low-fat, and Mediterranean) and food preparation skills. Able to conduct cooking demonstrations highlighting a variety of cuisines and lead hands-on cooking classes. Knowledgeable in importance of exercise and stress management and counseling strategies.
