Advertised Job Summary:

Creative Director for USC Athletics. Reports to the Sr. Associate Athletics Director for Marketing and Branding, will be responsible for developing and bringing the Athletics Department’s brand vision to life through unique and aspirational creative executions that build brand awareness and affinity for the Gamecocks. The Creative Director will ideate, design and produce digital and print materials from concept to completion. This position will work with a variety of constituents including but not limited to coaches, staff, marketing, communication services, prospects, alumni and fans. Will serve as project manager from conception through completion for various digital and print media to include posters, social media, signs, event displays, collateral materials, photo manipulation and other design projects. Will prepare designs, artwork and other visuals in support of client needs and consistent with design standards, planning and creating designs for the communication of information to various external and internal constituencies. Will collaborate with vendors on specific project ideas, to provide cost estimates or procure bids, to research options, and to establish completion dates. Stay current on graphics trends and techniques in the sports design industry, and learn and incorporate them at the University of South Carolina. Supervise student designers, recruit and manage student design team. Responsible for adhering to the rules and regulations of the department, University, SEC and NCAA.

Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions):

Requires the ability to constantly prioritize and meet deadlines in a high demand environment and ability to work extended hours until the job is complete. Degree related to graphic design, experience working in graphic design required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proficient with all Microsoft Office applications and Adobe creative suite, or similar graphics software.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of HTML and Dreamweaver. Excellent creativity, graphic design and communication skills. Knowledge / familiarity with NCAA rules and compliance related to graphics.
