Summary of Duties:
The Fiscal Analyst 3 reports to the Budget/Finance Manager of Washington State University Foundation (Foundation). This position is a senior fiscal specialist who prepares, analyzes and reports complex fiscal data for/to management, auditors, committees, donors, University personnel and other parties, in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), statutes, regulations or other guidance. The core functions of the position are handling the daily accounting functions of the endowment, donor activity reporting, and assisting with the annual audit and preparation of tax returns and financial statements.
A Bachelor’s degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and two (2) years of relevant professional experience, or equivalent education/experience.
Experience analyzing and interpreting financial data and preparing financial reports, statements and/or fiscal projections.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency level with Microsoft software programs such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint; in addition to other database applications.
Experience auditing, reconciling, and analyzing data.
Experience working within a higher education setting.
Accounting experience that involves balancing large dollar accounts with large number of transactions.
Experience working with contracts.
Monthly Salary: $3,987.00
