Position Details:

Summary of Duties: Under general supervision, the GEAR UP Office Assistant will perform a variety of complex clerical and administrative support duties in support of the GEAR UP Department. Primary responsibilities include processing PRs for GEAR UP grants and providing general GEAR UP administrative office support. Significant knowledge of GEAR UP and University rules, policies, and procedures will be required for completion of tasks and the ability to provide information to clients. Position requires frequent contact with clients, the public, university staff, faculty, and students.

Required Qualifications: High School graduation or equivalent and two years of clerical experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements: Strong computer skills including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office software, Internet, and email. Experience in developing, maintaining, and/or using computerized record systems and information management.

Preferred Qualifications: Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Professional working experience in a higher education environment. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent editing/proofreading skills.
