Position Summary:

The Department of History at Spelman College invites applicants for a one-semester, part-time lecturer for the fall of 2021. We are seeking a candidate who has the ability and willingness to teach a survey on African American History. The successful candidate should be willing to work closely with students at a Liberal Arts college with a commitment to teaching and engagement of students.

Specific Course(s) to be taught: SHIS 221 Survey of African American History I, MWF 1:00-1:50 pm ET


Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Master’s degree in History from an accredited institution at the time of application

Preferred Qualifications:
ABD or Ph.D. in History; previous experience of teaching courses in U.S. or African American history
