Position Summary:

The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies at Spelman College invites applicants for a one-semester, part-time lecturer for the fall of 2021. We are seeking a candidate who has the ability and willingness to teach undergraduate courses in the study of African American Christianity. The successful candidate should be willing to work closely with students at a Liberal Arts college with a commitment to teaching and engagement of students.

Specific Course(s) to be taught:

REL240 History of African American Christianity, TTR 2:25pm-3:40pm

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
A minimum of a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate discipline (e.g. religious/theological studies) at the time of application

Preferred Qualifications:
ABD or Ph.D. in religious studies or closely related field (e.g., Christian theology); previous experience of teaching courses in the study of African American Christianity
