Compensation and Benefits
Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $2,912 to $3,344 per month
Full classification Salary Range: $3,912 to $4,592 per month
This is a full-time, probationary, non-exempt position.
The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Department Administrative Assistant and the Department Chair, the incumbent will perform a wide variety of complex clerical assignments in support of the Psychology department's faculty and students. These assignments include prioritizing and assigning clerical work for student assistants, preparing, tracking and monitoring expenditures for student and faculty travel, interpreting university policy for both students and faculty in regards to admissions/registration and a variety of other areas related to an academic department, hiring student assistants for faculty and other special projects, providing administrative/clerical support to the department graduate committee and graduate students, maintain department inventory of supplies, prepare and track department purchase requisitions, electronically admit students into our graduate programs, serve as the department's safety coordinator and be responsible for maintaining all files to meet OSHA standards. Assist with the department participation in the CSM Commencement.
Key Qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of University academic policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Psychology department curriculum and graduation requirements
- Thorough knowledge of current office methods, procedures and practices.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and multiple interruption environment while successfully completing many different clerical tasks in a timely manner and also maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to adjust priorities and be responsive to short-notice requests.

Education and Experience
