The University of Georgia Facilities Management Division is the largest of seven (7) divisions reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Administration. The exceptional staff of over 900 personnel within the division manage, operate and maintain campus landscapes, buildings and infrastructure to promote the long-term sustainability of the University.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Position Summary:

As an entry level position, the Human Resources (HR) Administrative Assistant reports to the Director of Human Resources and provides administrative support to the FMD HR office. Facilities Management Division (FMD) is made up of more than 850 employee dispersed across campus. Due to the size of the organization, FMD has a dedicated Human Resources department that provides comprehensive HR services. The HR Administrative Assistant plays an essential role in ensuring the department operates effectively. As the assistant to the Director of Human Resources, this position prepares correspondence, assists with scheduling and filing (electronic and paper) and serves as the initial point of contact for the department. The HR Administrative Assistant also works with other FMD HR staff in support of various HR functions. Finally, the position assists FMD staff with inquires and use of HR systems.

•Serve as administrative support for Director of Human Resources
•Prepare documents and composes routine correspondence
•Gather and assist with the analysis data for reports and proposals
•Assist with FMD employees inquiries and resolution of matters
•Respond to applicant and employee requests
•Direct inquiries to the appropriate HR contact person

•Main point of contact for the distribution and submission of HR forms and documentation
•Assist with review of documentation for completeness, accuracy and compliance with established policies and procedures
•Maintain filing (both paper and electronic)
•Keep records in compliance with BOR retention policy and audit requirements
