The employee will primarily assist with summer research projects, in the laboratory and field, on ants. Duties will include: (1) collecting and maintaining insect colonies (ants); (2) ordering supplies; (3) assisting with lab and field experiments and entering data into Excel spreadsheets; (4) washing dishes and keeping the lab clean and tidy, as needed; and (5) other similar duties as required.Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position:
Degree in entomology and experience in lab and field experiments with ants, including rearing ants.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies :
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Work with or without supervision.
Ability to use Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Bend and lift at least 30 pounds,
Work outdoors and/or in the laboratory for multiple house a day.
Work in hot, summer weather.
