Adjunct Faculty Positions in Physics

The Natural Sciences Division at Mount Saint Mary College seeks qualified individuals to teach

Introductory Physics and General Physics lecture and lab sections, beginning Fall 2021, but also

with the possibility of an ongoing basis. The Introductory Physics lecture and lab courses are the

first semester of a 2-part introduction to the major fields of physics with emphasis on

understanding fundamental principles, covering mechanics, laws of motion, work and energy.

The General Physics lecture and lab courses are the first semester of a 2-part calculus-based

sequence covering fundamentals of mechanics, thermodynamics, work, and energy. These

courses are offered during the traditional 15-week semester schedule.

Qualifications include: A Master’s degree or higher is required in physics or a related field, or

in education. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Applications will be accepted on a

rolling basis. All offers of employment are contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
