Description
The Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry is seeking a Sr Clinical manager to oversee both the Departments of Endodontology and Periodontology. Under the direction of the Department Chairperson and Director, will be responsible for directing and managing clinical operations within the departments in the areas of staff recruitment and development, inventory/instrument management, process of patient care, and coordination of business operations. The Sr Clinical Manager is expected to be a hands on manager who not only directs staff, but is highly active in the clinic's daily working with faculty, students and staff on patient care issues as well as teaching, developing, and mentoring both staff and students in clinical management operations. The Sr. Clinic manager is also expected to serve in the role of a Dental Assistant or front desk staff whenever it is needed due to staff breaks, call outs, trainings, or shortness of staff. In addition, the Sr. Clinical manager must be able to communicate patient status with assigned resident and faculty; direct residents or patients to complete payments; prepare weekly reports on procedures completed at each clinic and payment status; manage all information using the electronic health record system of the school; ensure that all resources are efficiently used; interface with faculty on course of action based upon collected data; and perform billing functions, including verification of insurance, preparation of fee slips receipts, maintain patient.  Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree and with at least 4 years of dental clinical experience as a dental hygienist or dental assistant including either Dental Assisting training and certificate from an accredited school, or current license as a Dental Hygienist in PA, or eligibility for a Dental Hygiene License in PA; Dental Radiology Certification or eligibility for from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and CPR Certification. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

*Experience in a large dental practice with a large number of providers along with experience managing or developing staff and working with residents/students preferred.

*Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel and applicable professional principles.  

*Must have excellent writing and communication skills. 

*Demonstrated knowledge of office practices and operation of equipment. 

*Excellent organizational interpersonal skills required and the ability to deal effectively with the public. 

*Must be capable of communicating by telephone in a clear and concise manner. 

*Thorough knowledge of office procedures and the ability to carry out instructions and follow somewhat diversified procedures. 

*Knowledge of billing procedures highly preferred. 

*Must be capable of training new dental assistants.

  

This position requires a background check.

This position requires Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.
